They're not donating, because you're not planning robust fundraising campaigns!
If you run a charity or not for profit, do you have a fundraising and marketing plan? Why do you think someone would donate to your charity? This is your reminder that your branding, messaging and marketing are not “extras.”
They should be part of your fundraising strategy. They are part of your visibility. They are part of your legacy.

Let’s stop thinking of marketing as “the thing we’ll do when we have more time or money.” It’s the thing that helps bring IN more time and money.
If you’re trying to raise awareness on a budget, here are 3 things you can start doing today:
• Show up and share what’s working. Not the polished videos and prepped or staged photography! Share short behind-the-scenes videos, a heartfelt post about someone you’ve helped, or a founder’s message. If you saw my previous video you'll know I shared that people connect with people more than logos and stats. Get those videos sorted!
• Build your name locally, regionally and nationally. Philanthropists are everywhere. Tap into your local radio, councils, blogs, or schools to share what you're doing. Local support builds your base and leads to regional opportunities.
• Use strategic collaborations and existing networks. Use what you have now. Join forces with other groups who share your values. Joint lives, campaigns, or pop-ups allow you to borrow audiences and grow faster with little to no cost.
Over the years I've had regular payments come from my salary to various causes and charities and I now donate my time, in different ways via my business, to support charities.
