Why Starting Your Festive Marketing Early (and Finishing Late) Could Be Your Secret Weapon This Year

🎄 Why Starting Your Festive Marketing Early (and Finishing Late) Could Be Your Secret Weapon This Year

Before we know it, it will be mid December and the business owners who have not prepared will be juggling orders, school plays and last minute clients, and guess what happens? They will be tired, overwhelmed and missing out on sales that could have been flowing weeks earlier.

This year, that doesn’t have to be you.

A report from Statista in 2025 found that over 43% of UK shoppers begin planning their Christmas purchases by the end of October. Think about that for a second. People are already buying while many small business owners are still thinking about what to post. And according to Retail Economics, almost one in three shoppers spend again in January during the second wave of seasonal sales.

So what does that mean for you? It means that if you have not yet mapped out your marketing plans, now would be a good time. And, by the way you do have an opportunity to do this with me for £47 this weekend.

Here is something to consider

October was never too early but some of us have still not prepared anything in terms of messaging, offers and planning. January is not too late either. It is your chance to keep the energy going when others stop showing up.

I don't know if you recall me previously sharing that I once ran a festive offer in mid November and as so under pressure from doing this in my own business. Never again. That feeling of pressure is not it.

Festive marketing should never be about one big push. It is about creating a seasonal rhythm your audience can keep dancing to. This is where marketing planning comes in.

One way you can use this to your advantage

Ride the mid season wave
When December arrives, turn up the volume. Share testimonials, show up in videos and remind your followers of important cut off dates. People buy from those they trust and remember. I would also consider attending a few events as well, some tips on this are shared here

Final thought

The business owners who start early and stay visible longer are usually the ones who stand out when everyone else slows down. You do not need a big budget to win this season. You simply need consistency, a plan and a little festive creativity.

If you are not sure how to map it all out, I have shared my full process in my Festive Marketing Workbook and explained it step by step in my YouTube video series.
