5 Video Ideas to Promote Your Brand Online and Help You Sell More

When I started my business in 2013, I had a small budget and so marketing needed to be based online and attending events. Knowing how to curate my videos, which topics to cover and when and where to share it was key!

Do you use video? How are your analytics? Are you consistently producing videos and which ones are performing best or worst?

Many of us are creating videos but don't have a plan for our content. Leveraging video marketing effectively can really boost your brand’s presence online. Here are five strategies you can use across our short and long-form content on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok:

1. Storytelling with a Twist

  • Short-Form: Share bite-sized stories or highlights from your day-to-day operations. On TikTok or Instagram Reels, create engaging snippets that captivate your audience’s attention quickly.
  • Long-Form: Produce in-depth videos on YouTube or Facebook that delve into your brand’s journey, core values, or behind-the-scenes looks. Think of it as a mini-documentary that showcases your brand’s personality and mission.

2. Educational Content

  • Short-Form: Post quick tips or “how-to” videos. Instagram Stories and TikTok are perfect for delivering quick, actionable advice. For example, a 30-second video with a marketing tip or a mini-tutorial.
  • Long-Form: Create detailed tutorials, webinars, or workshops. On YouTube or Facebook, you can go deeper into topics relevant to your audience, offering substantial value and positioning yourself as an expert.

3. Customer Testimonials and Case Studies

  • Short-Form: Share short, impactful testimonials or success stories. These can be customer interviews or quick soundbites that you can post on Instagram Reels or TikTok.
  • Long-Form: Develop comprehensive case study videos where you go into detail about how your product or service has helped clients. These can be in-depth interviews or documentary-style videos shared on YouTube or Facebook.

4. Interactive Content

  • Short-Form: Use polls, quizzes, or quick Q&A sessions. Instagram Stories and TikTok’s interactive features can engage viewers and make your content more dynamic.
  • Long-Form: Host live Q&A sessions or interactive webinars on Facebook or YouTube. These longer formats allow for deeper engagement and real-time interaction with your audience.

5. Product Demos and Reviews

  • Short-Form: Create concise demo videos or unboxings. TikTok and Instagram Reels are great for showcasing your products in a fun, engaging way.
  • Long-Form: Offer detailed product reviews or comprehensive demos on YouTube or Facebook. This helps potential customers see your product in action and understand its benefits.
